Are these deals real, or anchored to an inflated “was” price?
The previous price shown is the company’s own published rate for the same package within the last six months, and companies are asked to keep evidence of it. We remove deals where the “was” price cannot be substantiated. This matters because inflated anchor pricing is endemic in travel, and a marketplace that tolerates it teaches people to ignore its prices entirely.
Do I book through ETC?
No — you book with the travel company. ETC lists the deal, shows you what is included and connects you. The company is the operator and the contracting party, which is why every one of them is verified before appearing.
Can I change a deal package?
Usually yes. Most of these are structured packages with fixed components, but companies will quote variations — an extra night, a different room category, a private rather than shared transfer. Message the company or submit a trip request referencing the deal.
Why are most deals in shoulder season?
Because that is when genuine value exists. Peak-season discounting in a capacity-constrained destination is usually either a mirage or a signal that something is wrong with the property. Shoulder season buys you similar weather, materially lower prices and half the crowd — and companies would rather fill April than discount August.
