Quick answer
How does EuropeanTravelCompanies work for travelers?
You fill in one short trip request — destination, dates, number of travellers, what you need and a budget range. ETC matches it with up to 8 verified travel companies that actually operate in that destination, and they reply with concrete, priced offers you can compare side by side and question directly. It is free for travellers, there is no obligation to book, and you book with the company itself rather than through ETC.

Why go through a marketplace at all
Every company is checked
Legal entity, licences and references are verified before a listing goes live. No anonymous sellers.
Free, and no markup
Travelers pay nothing. You book directly with the company, at the price they quoted you.
One form, not twenty emails
Instead of writing to companies one by one, you write once and let the right ones come to you.
Comparable offers
Offers arrive in the same structure, so you can see what is actually included side by side.
Talk before you decide
Ask questions in-platform. How a company answers is the best predictor of how the trip will go.
Reviews that mean something
Only travellers with a confirmed working relationship can review. No purchased reputation.
What makes a request get good answers
The quality of the offers you receive is mostly decided by the quality of the request you send. A company reading “Italy, sometime in summer, 2 people” can only guess; a company reading “Amalfi Coast, 12–19 September, 2 adults, boutique 4★, one private Pompeii day, €3,000–4,000 total” can quote something real within the hour.
Three things move the needle more than anything else:
- A budget range. It is not a commitment, it is a brief. Requests with a range receive roughly twice as many concrete offers, because the company knows which hotels and which level of service to build around.
- Fixed or nearly-fixed dates. Availability is the single biggest constraint in travel. “Flexible” is fine, but “flexible within late September” is far more useful than “flexible”.
- What matters most to you. A view, step-free access, a specific ruin, dinner reservations, travelling with a toddler. Say it. Companies design around constraints they know about and stumble on the ones they do not.
When the offers come back, compare inclusions before price. Two quotes that look €300 apart are often four excursions and two transfers apart. And message the companies you shortlist — the speed, precision and honesty of a reply tells you more about the trip ahead than any brochure will.
